Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)

The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) is a healthcare subsidy program in Singapore. It is designed to provide financial assistance for lower- to middle-income Singaporeans to help them access affordable healthcare services at participating clinics and healthcare institutions.

Under the CHAS scheme, eligible Singaporeans can receive subsidies for outpatient medical treatments, as well as for certain chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.

CHAS subsidies are tiered into different levels, namely CHAS Green, CHAS Blue, and CHAS Orange, with varying subsidy amounts depending on income level and household size. Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) cardholders will also receive subsidies under CHAS.

Pioneer Generation Subsidy

The Pioneer Generation Subsidy (PGS) is a healthcare subsidy program in Singapore that is targeted specifically at the pioneer generation, which refers to Singaporeans who were aged 65 and above in 2014.

PGS provides subsidies for outpatient medical and dental treatments, as well as certain chronic conditions, to eligible pioneer generation Singaporeans. It also includes additional subsidies for selected health screenings, vaccinations, and MediShield Life premium subsidies to help with basic health insurance coverage.

Merdeka Generation Package

The Merdeka Generation Package is a healthcare and social support package to provide additional support to Singaporeans born in the 1950s (or "Merdeka Generation").

Eligible Merdeka Generation Singaporeans would have received a Merdeka Generation Card that provides them with benefits, including subsidized outpatient medical and dental treatments at participating clinics and healthcare institutions.

Merdeka Generation Singaporeans receive additional subsidies for recommended health screenings, such as mammograms, colonoscopies, and screenings for diabetes and hypertension.

Merdeka Generation Singaporeans enjoy enhanced CHAS benefits, including higher subsidies for outpatient medical and dental treatments, as well as chronic condition subsidies.
